The Kinsmen Laboratory Brain Bank is a valuable resource available to all qualified scientists. It consists of many hundreds of brains that have been donated over the past 25 years to the McGeer laboratory. Results of earlier studies on these post mortem brains illustrate the Bank’s importance to future investigators. The award to Dr. P.L. McGeer of the first Henry Wisniewski prize for lifetime achievement in Alzheimer disease research attests to the value of building and maintaining a Brain Bank.
